X: Beyond the Frontier, developed by Egosoft, is a space strategy game that takes you on a journey through the universe. The game begins with the story of mankind's rise and fall, and Kyle Brennan's attempt to repopulate the stars using a new ship called the Experimental Shuttle. However, things take a turn for the worse when he becomes trapped in a group of sectors inhabited by hostile aliens, hunted by several people, and in debt to an alien who saved his life.
The game features trade, fight, and build elements. You can trade in over 50 sectors with different goods, upgrade your ship with dozens of upgrades available to you by 5 different races, and construct stations to build your production empire. You must also find the location of hostile pirates and survive against attacks by the Xenon. To succeed, you must adapt your trading empire to suit the needs of each sector's local economy. X: Beyond the Frontier is the first part in the X-Universe series and is an excellent game for space strategy lovers.
